大正迎賓館にふさわしい湯川松堂作の淡輪山荘の襖絵―群鶴図連作は素晴らしいの一言

大正迎賓館 淡輪山荘の玄関間、控え客間、主客間、これらの広間には、和歌山の日本画家、湯川松堂による鶴を描いた連作の襖絵が配置されています。その襖絵の全景は鶴の飛翔を描いて圧巻。
松堂は明治から昭和にかけて活躍した日本画家。大阪・四天王寺の大鐘楼の雲龍図も手掛けています。
竹中源助氏は、大正迎賓館たらしめるこの襖絵を、和歌山人脈で松堂に任せようと考えたのでしょう。
当時は招待客のみが、ここ淡輪山荘でこれらの襖絵を見ることができた。まさに私設美術館！
ずっと眺めていると、大正時代にプレイバックしたような感すらあります。
The entrance hall, waiting room, and main hall, the important function rooms of Tannowa Sanso, they features a series of sliding door paintings depict cranes by Japanese-style painter Yukawa Shodo. The overall view of connected sliding door paintings is just magnificent.
Shodo was a Japanese painter active from the Meiji period to the Showa period. He also created the cloud dragon painting for the Great Bell Tower of Shitennoji Temple in Osaka.
Mr. Takenaka, the owner of Tannowa Sanso thought that because of his birthplace, same Wakayama, he would entrust the sliding door paintings to the full-rich sclae of the guesthouse villa to Shodo.
At that time, only invited guests were able to see these sliding door paintings here at Tannowa Sanso. Looking at all of them calmly, you even feel like you are among with rich people of the Taisho extravagance.
